Subject:  Modeling erosion from a site

Hi, I'm just starting to conceptualize modeling surface erosion from archaeological sites. Basically, where would surface ceramics go based on slope and hydrological processes? I would like to determine if "off-site" ceramics originated from defined sites as a result of erosion or if they were generated by past human activities that occurred away from the main residential sites. I saw a NOAA non-point source pollution modeling tool but the program requires DEM, soils, etc. that are in standard USGS type formats. Since I'm working with international data, I can't really test out the NOAA software. Anybody, familiar with a similar non-point source erosional study for surface materials? Thanks in advance for any references. Greg
