Hi there.

I am currently undertaking my MSc in GISc, and I am writing a report on using GIS freeware as opposed to vendors such as ESRI and Intergrapgh etc.

The questions I would like to pose to anybody interested in helping me out are (based on your opinion):

1) Can GIS freeware be an option for professional use?
2) What are the advantages and disadvantages?
3) Which kind of problems can be expected?

I appreciate any and all help in advance!
