SPATIALinfo Inc. Releases SPATIALnet™ 1.7
(Denver, Colorado, April 4, 2000) - SPATIALinfo, a leading developer of geo-spatial information technology solutions, today announced the release of Version 1.7 of its powerful SPATIALnet™ AM/FM/GIS application.

“The Telecommunications, Utility, and Network Design and Construction markets have a critical need for solutions which spatially-enable engineering design, allow integration of spatial information with corporate applications, and facilitate enterprise access to spatial information,” said Mr. Peter Mitchell, SPATIALinfo’s Chief Executive Officer.

“SPATIALnet is a comprehensive AM/FM/GIS application for capturing, editing and displaying utility outside plant networks, modeled and stored in a relational database. SPATIALnet is shipped rich with functionality, right ‘out of the box’, to minimize configuration and add-on applications development. Standard data model templates are available for telecommunications, power, water, sewer and gas, highly configurable to business rules, processes and work-flows, and easily augmented,” said Mr. Mitchell.

“We highlighted the benefits and functionality of SPATIALnet™ 1.7 at the GITA Annual Conference and Exhibition in Denver, and received a great deal of enthusiasm for the product. People who have been trying to figure out the problems with GIS and access to their data immediately saw the benefits of the product” added Mr. Wes Clain, SPATIALinfo’s Vice President.

SPATIALnet can integrate with a wide range of other systems, for superior enterprise access to spatial data from all reaches of the organization. SPATIALnet presently uses the AutoCAD Map 2000® client from Autodesk® for graphics manipulation and display, and can be easily integrated with other client applications, such as Bentley’s Microstation®.

SPATIALinfo’s solutions are highly functional tools, uniquely targeted at enabling and supporting business process re-engineering. The outsourcing of functions such as design, construction or maintenance of networks, and spatially related functions, is transparently enabled by SPATIALinfo solutions, which can be deployed either within the Telecommunications or Utility, or outside to contractors, in configurations that are in connected or mobile environments.

“As Telecommunications and Utilities re-engineer business processes, they need systems which seamlessly handle the information and recording cycle of complicated network and GIS data; both within and outside the organization,” said Mr Mitchell.

SPATIALinfo is a software company with global partners and a long history of providing geo-relational products and technologies, consulting, applications development, data migration, and systems integration services into AM/FM, GIS, and Enterprise Information Systems markets world-wide.

SPATIALinfo’s core enterprise solution products, available for resale, include:

SPATIALnetTM

A complete AM/FM/GIS system which captures, edits and displays Utility Outside Plant Networks, modeled in a spatially-enabled RDBMS using SDM™, to provide enterprise-wide spatial data access. SPATIALnet may also be used with Bentley’s Microstation® as the graphic’s editing engine.

SDMTM

The Spatial Data Manager - a product family incorporating the world’s most fully-featured enterprise spatial data engine for ORACLE® and Microsoft SQL Server®, supporting topology in the database.

SPATIALwebTM

SPATIALwebTM enables organizations using SPATIALinfo’s SDMTM software with either ORACLE® or Microsoft SQL Server® to distribute up- to-date geo-relational information to internet/intranet users. SPATIALwebTM currently supports Autodesk MapGuide® for GIS-style query and analysis, and Autodesk WHIP! for other specific applications.
