Safe Software’s data access products now on Red Hat Linux
Vancouver, BC – July 28, 2000 – Safe Software announces that its industry leading data access products, FME Enterprise and SpatialDirect, are now available on the Red Hat Linux operating system. With the addition of Red Hat Linux support, Safe Software continues to expand its position as a multi-platform provider of spatial data access solutions.

"Supporting Red Hat Linux extends the options our customers have when they implement our data access solutions," said Dale Lutz, VP Product Development at Safe Software Inc.

More about FME Enterprise

FME Enterprise is a complete data access solution for reading, writing and transforming spatial data. Red Hat Linux is the latest UNIX platform to be added to a list that includes Solaris, AIX and HPUX. FME Enterprise allows data to be shared among people and organizations that have data resources in different GIS, CAD and database formats. FME Enterprise is used by telcos, oil & gas companies, utilities and governments for: loading spatial databases, sharing data in multi-GIS/CAD environments, data translation/format conversion, coordinate conversion/reprojection, and complex data transformation functions.

More about SpatialDirect

SpatialDirect is a cost effective system that allows organizations to provide spatial data resources to customers and end users over the Internet/Intranet in user-selected data formats and projections. SpatialDirect empowers end users by allowing them to extract data from remote data sources and then have that data sent to their desktops in the data format and projection that best meets their needs. SpatialDirect integrates with third party applications like ESRI’s ArcIMS or it is available as a turn-key solution. In the turn-key system, a freely available web browser - Netscape or IE - is the only required client side software.

More about Safe Software Safe Software Inc. is dedicated to providing robust software solutions to enhance data interoperability. The Company offers a full range of data access products including stand-alone data translators, web-based data brokers and embeddable data reading/writing utilities.
