OBJECTFX CORPORATION RELEASES SPATIALFXtm VERSION 2.0
Routing, EJBs, Java2D, Expanded Map Data And Other New Features Provide Rich
Enhancements To This Popular Spatial Visualization Suite
St. Paul, MN (February 14, 2000) ObjectFX Corporation, a leading provider of
spatial visualization software, today announced the release of SpatialFXtm
Version 2.0. ObjectFX offers software and application solutions that
integrate business information with Web-enabled spatial interfaces such as
maps or network diagrams. Enterprises use these data-rich maps and diagrams
to visually monitor, analyze, and interact with corporate information
systems. This intuitive, real-time visualization of business systems
provides a rapid return on investment by reducing costs, enhancing
productivity, and enabling more effective use of critical information.
SpatialFXtm offers a unique Component Architecture that includes client-side
JavaBeans, a library of over 500 Java classes, Java servlets, server-side
Enterprise Java Beans (EJB's) and a back-end Application Server. Users can
run ObjectFX's own Java Spatial server or use the SpatialFXtm EJBs within
commercial Application Servers, such as BEA's WebLogic. Among the new
features in the 2.0 release are: cross platform US Street Databases,
Door-to-Door Routing Services (also deployable as an EJB), numerous GIS-type
enhancements, the use of the Java2D API for cartographic quality map
rendering, numerous performance enhancements and standardization on JDK
1.2.2 (Java2).
"This release continues our efforts to provide the richest, easiest, and
most performant solutions to tightly integrate geographic visualization and
analysis in enterprise information systems. Version 2.0 is also the
foundation for our new line of e-business visibility applications, beginning
with February's release of c-IT Locate tm, our web mapping service product,"
said John Peterson, ObjectFX founder and VP of Technology Planning.
In support of the new map databases and routing service, ObjectFX has
entered into a reseller partnership with Geographic Data Technology, Inc.
(GDT), a provider of premium digital map data. "GDT is pleased to be working
with ObjectFX to provide high-quality digital map databases to ObjectFX's
customers," said Darrin Clement, GDT's Director of Product Development.
"ObjectFX's focus on web-based deployment to the business and commercial
sectors requires current and accurate maps. GDT's products will help assure
ObjectFX customers the up-to-date accuracy they demand."
