MapQuest.com to Provide Mapping Solutions for World's Largest Retailer
Wal-Mart Joins MapQuest's Network of More Than 180 Retailers, 1,000 Clients

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 2000--MapQuest.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:MQST), a leader in online destination information, has been selected to provide maps and directions for Wal-Mart's Web site. MapQuest.com will also power its upcoming SAM'S Club.com Travel Site Booking Engine, a new online travel service that will be available in 2000.

Under this agreement, Wal-Mart will utilize the MapQuest.com Enterprise Server product, which houses the geo-coded database of mapping solutions. In addition, SAM'S Club.com Travel Site Booking Engine will use MapQuest.com's online mapping solutions.

Across all categories, MapQuest recently surpassed 1,000 total customers licensing its technology, including Fortune 500 and top 50 Media Metrix companies, such as AOL, GTE, Citgo, Kinkos, Bank of America, Gannett, American Express, Best Western, MasterCard International, InfoSpace, Yahoo! and Travelocity.
