DeLorme Upgrades Street Atlas USA® and Earthmate™ GPS Receiver for Macintosh®
YARMOUTH, Maine — DeLorme has released new Macintosh versions of its best-selling software Street Atlas USA, and the compatible Earthmate GPS Receiver. With new features like address-to-address routing, one-way roads in major cities, the Via routing tool and updated road data, Street Atlas USA 6.0 for Macintosh combines with the Earthmate GPS Receiver to provide powerful mapping and navigation tools for both business travelers and vacation planners.

"This feature-rich version of Street Atlas USA is just what many of our Macintosh customers have been requesting," says Dave Eshelman, DeLorme's vice president of sales and marketing. "On a notebook or desktop computer, people can get address-to-address directions on very detailed maps and then, with Earthmate, see exactly where they are on those maps to make sure they're headed in the right direction. It's such a valuable mapping and navigation solution for a very low price."

Now, Macintosh users will be able to type in street addresses and the program will provide directions between them, as well as a highlighted route on the map. And, with the new Via function, users can easily select and include individual road segments in the routing process.

Street Atlas USA 6.0 for Macintosh includes all the great features found in the previous version, including 15 levels of map detail that can be customized and printed, distance and area measurement tools, and the ability to import an address book.

Street Atlas USA 6.0 runs on Mac OS 8.0 or later, and is available at computer and other specialty stores for an estimated street price of $49.95. Consumers may purchase the Earthmate GPS Receiver, which includes Street Atlas USA 6.0 software, all for $179.95. Purchase directly from DeLorme at 800-452-5931, or through the DeLorme Web site.

DeLorme is a leading map publisher, serving the consumer and business markets. In business since 1976, the company produces a wide variety of mapping software and the paper Atlas & Gazetteer™ series—recreational atlases for all 50 states.
