Local Course Revitalizes With Help From Above; ParView's GPS Technology Breaths New Life Into Carrollwood Golf Club
TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 14 - An all-inclusive Golf Club known for
"having it all" adds cutting-edge technology to its list of amenities when
they infuse their golf course with GPS (Global Positioning System).
Carrollwood is the place to be to do it all. The 27-hole championship
golf course ventures through the fabulous community of Carrollwood Village.
"We have a beautiful layout and the course is designed for the pleasure and
enjoyment of golfers at any skill level," says Inga Addario, General Manager.
"It has been our goal to enhance our members' experience here by reviving the
facility and adding to the amenities; ParView's GPS system has definitely
helped us achieve that," says John Blazer, Owner of Carrollwood Golf and
Tennis Club. The whole family can find something to do at Carrollwood; the
club has state-of-the-art swimming and tennis facilities as well. All of the
facilities serve as hosts to many tournaments, competitions and events.
Professional instruction is available for all of the activities at
Carrollwood, so as not to leave anyone out. The club offers a casual, as well
as formal dining experience, depending on the mood and the occasion, and the
Pro Shop is well stocked with the finest quality of equipment and clothing.

"The management at Carrollwood is doing a great job at restoring their
course and ParView is glad to be a part of that process," says Kevin
Carpenter, National Sales Manager for ParView. Using satellite transmissions,
ParView's technology provides accurate information to the golfers and course
managers. ParView offers the largest color screen in the industry, optional
hands-free operation, and numerous features. The GPS system brings graphical
hole and green overviews, exact distancing, pro tips, scoring, a live
tournament leader board, weather and safety messaging, two-way communication,
and food and beverage ordering directly to the golfer via the GPS system
installed on the golf cart. In addition, the video display screen is a unique
medium through which to bring advertising and sponsorship opportunities. The
system not only enhances the golfing experience for the golfers, but functions
as a very sophisticated management tool, improving overall course operations
efficiency and profitability.
