Exclusive Webcast Features Q&A on NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission; Join Mission Specialists and Scientists from JPL LIVE
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Jan. 19, 2000 - LiveOnTheNet.com, in
conjunction with NASA Quest and JPL brings NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission to space
enthusiasts coast to coast. The Mission uses an imaging radar system, which will fly onboard the space
shuttle for 11 days. The radar system will get the most accurate and complete topographic map of the
Earth's surface that has ever been assembled. The radar will bounce signals off the surface; these signals
will be received by two onboard antenna systems and combined by computers at a ground facility to
produce 3-D images.
LiveOnTheNet, together with NASA Quest and NASA's Joint Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), will
host three Q&A sessions with NASA JPL Mission Specialists and Scientists to discuss the inner
workings of this mission. The Pre-launch Mission Overview, on Friday January 21 at 1 p.m. ET, will
cover the mission and what we can expect from it. On Thursday February 9, at 1 p.m. ET, scientists will
discuss the mission status. The Mission Follow-Up webcast will take place on Monday February 29 at
1 p.m. ET. You will be able to submit questions for all of these at
