XYZ Celebrate Second Birthday Appointment of Sales & Marketing ManagerCraig joins us from a direct selling environment with a major Scottish company where he has been a key figure in the sales force for many years. In fact he was top salesman on a number of occasions in what is a very competitive environment. Somewhat unusually, therefore, Craig is coming from outside the world of GIS. This will give us the advantage that he will be fully in step with the business requirements of our customers and the non-GIS specialist’s point of view, rather than falling into the trap of confusing the innocent with jargon and buzz words! On the other hand, we have already mapped out an intensive induction programme for him to ensure that he has all the relevant product knowledge at his command. Craig has had an interest in XYZ from the outset and is looking forward to joining the team. He will be responsible for developing our Sales & Marketing Department, and carrying forward our growth in a number of key areas. These include our largest and most important project to date, namely the Scottish National Millennium Map, where we are working in partnership with Getmapping.Com Plc to create 80,000 square kilometres of digital colour air photography of Scotland. Of course, Craig has a solid foundation on which to build. Four Scottish local authorities have already selected XYZ OrthoView Site Licences for their air photography needs, not forgetting the new Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham and Cardiff CityMap GIS databases, the successful CityMap on CD range of publications, our web mapping programme, and our rapidly expanding contract map creation and development business.
