ArcGIS Parcel Team Expands to Include SDS and NovaLIS
Joint Products and Solutions Announced
Redlands, California - ESRI announced today the inclusion of SDS and NovaLIS in the ArcGIS Parcel research and development team.
The research and development team, led by ESRI, is working with users and business partners to define the ArcGIS Parcel Model. In addition, the team is working with the ArcInfo development teams to define core parcel editing requirements. During the past year, ESRI has been working with several strategic teams including the Bureau of Land Management National Integrated Land System project.
“The release of ArcInfo 8 and the geodatabase object-modeling environment has given ESRI an opportunity, from a technology standpoint, to create essential data models for specific industries and applications,” according to Jack Dangermond, president and founder of ESRI. “The ArcGIS Parcel team allows the ESRI user community to benefit from the collective knowledge base of ESRI and the parcel industry leaders. Working together, we will develop the ArcGIS Parcel Model and core capabilities in ESRI products to support our users.”
In addition, NovaLIS and SDS have agreed to join forces in a strategic partnership to develop a shared set of land records management tools that will be included in NovaLIS and SDS solutions. This will provide focused productivity tools for the automation of land records maintenance activities. These parcel manager tools are expected to be released concurrent with ArcInfo 8.1. Susan Marlow, president of SDS, says, “This alliance will create an industry standard for modeling, maintaining, and managing parcel data. Solutions based on the ArcGIS Parcel Model will provide our customers with standard maintenance and integration tools to automate work flow, CAMA integration solutions, and data distribution solutions.”
NovaLIS President Alex Miller says, “This partnership will allow us to build on the strength of NovaLIS Parcel Editor and SDS Parcel Mapper while leveraging ESRI ArcInfo 8 technology. The integration of the ArcGIS Parcel Model and NovaLIS suite of land records products will provide customers with leading edge GIS-enabled solutions for registry, assessment, planning, and land development.”
NovaLIS and SDS ArcGIS based parcel solutions will provide relevant technology and service bundles for ESRI users. The first of these solution bundles will be the Parcel Starter Kit and the Parcel Migration Kit. The starter kit is intended to provide a set of products and services for typical parcel maintenance projects. The Parcel Migration Kit is a turnkey solution intended for users migrating from coverage and CAD environments to ArcGIS systems.
SDS and NovaLIS will be unveiling this new endeavor at the ESRI International User Conference in San Diego. Conference attendees are encouraged to stop by SDS booth #206 and NovaLIS booth #800 for more information.
