New Software from DeLorme Designed for Businesses
YARMOUTH, Maine, March 9 - A new mapping program from DeLorme not only helps businesses locate their customers, but also helps their customers find them. XMap(R) Business, available on CD-ROM and DVD-ROM, combines detailed, street-level maps with database management tools, easy-to-use annotation functions and over 104 million business and residential telephone listings. It also allows businesses to create customized maps for display on their website.

"XMap Business makes it easy to map your own important information," says David DeLorme, CEO. "You can mark out territories, create targeted mailing lists from the program's built-in database, plan business travel and even make maps to post on Web sites."

XMap Business lets business people:

  • Import data from programs such as Symantec ACT!, Goldmine, Microsoft Access and Excel and other popular programs in order to display that information on detailed maps of the entire US
  • Display two custom maps on their business website
  • Access over 104 million telephone listings in order to show locations of clients, customers, competitors and business prospects
  • Annotate the maps with text, MapNotes and symbols
  • Create routes and directions between multiple addresses and use with GPS
  • Use MapFolio to save maps, routes and datasets for later use

Handheld computer owners can download a component that lets them export maps to either a Palm Computing(R) or Windows(R) CE device. By purchasing DeLorme's Solus(TM) Pro application, multiple maps and routes can be created in XMap Business, transferred to a handheld computer and then used for real- time tracking with the DeLorme Earthmate GPS receiver.

XMap Business runs on Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 95/98, or Windows NT(R) 4.0 or later, requires a personal computer with Intel(R) Pentium(R) 120 MHz or higher processor, 32 MB RAM and 130 MB of available hard-disk space.

DeLorme is America's leading mapping software publisher, serving consumers, businesses and professionals. XMap Business and other DeLorme products can be purchased directly from DeLorme at 800-452-5931, or through the DeLorme Web site at http://www.delorme.com .
