Earth Search Sciences Conquers Challenges to Generate First Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Data Inside the Arctic Circle
McCALL, Idaho, -March 13, 2000--Earth Search Sciences, Inc., (OTCBB:EDIS) today announced that the company has reported significant results from what it believes to be the first-ever commercial hyperspectral remote sensing mission over the Arctic Circle. Larry Vance, founder and chairman of Earth Search Sciences, said the images collected during the 1999 summer mission proved very valuable to ESSI's client, Noranda Inc. (TSE:NOR) and another large program is being contemplated in northern Canada this summer.

"We are pleased to have been the pioneering team on yet another mission that presented extreme geographical and logistical challenges," Vance said. "This project is another demonstration that our PROBE-1 instrument can go anywhere in the world and operate successfully."

The Earth Search Sciences team had a short 30-day window when much of the snow is melted, during which to complete the mission. Additionally, fuel had to be flown ahead into isolated, but strategically placed airstrips in the far reaches of northern Canada.

With carefully located caches of fuel, the crew was able to successfully fly the small fixed-winged airplane, with PROBE-1 mounted in its fuselage, over the wilderness to Resolute Island to complete the project.

Earth Search Sciences, Inc., is a leading provider of commercial remote sensing services. The company's PROBE-1 hyperspectral remote sensing instruments provide quantifiable information to customers by measuring the "signature" light reflections of almost everything on the earth's surface.

The company delivers proprietary data to clients engaged in mineral and hydrocarbon exploration, environmental assessment and other activities that require highly accurate information from images. By employing software to analyze images captured by its proprietary remote sensing system, Earth Search Sciences enhances its customers' decision-making capabilities. The system enables precise mapping of large tracts of land quickly and economically.

This news release includes forward-looking statements that involve a number of risks and uncertainties. The information reflects numerous assumptions as to industry performance, general business and economic conditions, regulatory and legal requirements, taxes and other matters, many of which are beyond the control of the company. Similarly, this information assumes certain future business decisions that are subject to change. There can be no assurance that the results predicted here will be realized. Actual results may vary from those represented and those variations may be material.
