ESRI Plans Global Distribution of LizardTech's MrSID and Expansion Into The InternetThis announcement significantly enhances the existing relationship between the two companies. LizardTech and ESRI have been working together for more than three years to create solutions that make working with GIS raster imagery more powerful and extremely efficient. Today, LizardTech's MrSID(TM) Imaging Language is supported by ESRI's suite of GIS software, including its phenomenally successful ArcView GIS and ArcInfo software lines. This expansion is the natural evolution of the already strong relationship between the two companies. MrSID reduces the size of high-resolution images to less than 5 percent of their original size, while maintaining the integrity and geometric accuracy of the original.
