Symantec discovers "Love Bug" computer worm and posts fix
So far, I've received more than a dozen email messages with the attached virus! Therefore, here's some info that will likely be of great help to you if and when you receive the contaminated "love bug" message -- Glenn Letham, editor@spatialnews.com

Researchers at the Symantec AntiVirus Research Center have discovered VBS.LoveLetter.A, an extremely fast-spreading computer worm that e-mails itself as an attachment. It appears as an attachment with the subject line "ILOVEYOU" along with an attachment called "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.VBS."

Preliminary findings indicate that the worm sends itself to all addresses in the computer user's Outlook address book causing mail servers to clog. The worm will infect files with the following extensions: vbs, vbe, je, jse, css, wsh, sct, hta, jpg, jpeg, mp3 and mp2. As well as delete your computer files.

If you are not a current customer, we recommend for your protection, purchasing Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security or Norton SystemWorks now at: http://cgi.zdnet.com/slink?33396:5862743

If you are a current customer of Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security or Norton SystemWorks you can download the fix by running your LiveUpdate and get updated against the latest viruses, including the "Love Bug".
