Geometric Announces Formation of New Business Units

MUMBAI, India, Nov. 6, 2000--Geometric Software Solutions (GEOMETRIC), a global provider of software technology and related development services for CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM vendors worldwide, announces the formation of two new business units to facilitate the company's entry into emerging technology growth areas.

The new business units, namely, Information Management and Collaborative Engineering, combine with the existing Geometry unit to provide comprehensive solutions to the manufacturing industry. Manu Parpia, Managing Director says, "Our objective is to leverage our strengths in Geometry and offer solutions and integration services that benefit from the considerable technology resources of the company."

The Geometry business unit will continue to focus on the company's traditional expertise in geometry. All existing technologies and projects will remain with this unit. The Information Management unit will initially focus on the PDM market and seek both development and implementation opportunities. The Collaborative Engineering unit will seek projects and build technologies to serve the business-to-business industry. In this context, it has already started building a promising new viewer framework.

Parpia adds, "While the two new business units might seem to have broad connotations, the underlying strategy is to focus on delivering manufacturing solutions to industry. With our expertise in Geometry, we are well-equipped to deliver comprehensive solutions to meet the manufacturing industry's sophisticated requirements."
