DMTI Spatial(tm) Showcases CanMap® V4.0 at the Geospatial Information &
Technology Association (GITA) - Ontario Chapter Conference
MARKHAM, ON November 8, 2000 - DMTI Spatial will showcase its newly
released digital street map data product suite, CanMap® V4.0 to the
Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA). One of the premier
geo-informational events in Ontario, GITA's 4th Annual Ontario Chapter
Conference and Vendor Exhibit 2000 expects to attract about 300 attendees.
This is an excellent venue for DMTI Spatial to showcase CanMap V4.0 to
AM/FM/GIS and SCADA professionals from the utility, telecommunications,
government, transportation, and education markets, who in turn are looking
at spatial technology to help meet local, regional, and provincial
data-analysis needs.
DMTI Spatial's GIS specialists will demonstrate the benefits of the updated
CanMap V4.0 data product suite at its show booth, and in a Conference
presentation, titled: Empower the Enterprise! Manage Resources More
Effectively Using Spatial Technology.
"DMTI Spatial is pleased to have this opportunity to tell GITA Ontario
members about the significant enhancements we've introduced to CanMap
V4.0," said John Fisher, President & CEO, DMTI Spatial. "For example,
CanMap Streetfiles now provides named streets for communities as small as
1,000 people, a level of detail absolutely unprecedented in a Canadian
street-map data product."
Just ask Earl from Ear Falls, Ontario, population 1,170. Earl personifies
the significant achievements of CanMap V4.0. Over the coming weeks he'll be
helping DMTI Spatial to tell its customers about the benefits of CanMap
V4.0. Watch for him in company ads and on its web site at
www.dmtispatial.com.
In addition to providing street names for communities of 1,000 people,
CanMap V4.0 is loaded with many new features and enhancements. These
include: addressing for communities of more than 4,750 people; Canada/US
border crossings (points of entry) - including the name of the US road that
links to the Canadian road across the border; airport locations, plus
airport name and code in urban areas.
CanMap Version 4.0 began shipping October 6, 2000. Included in the CanMap
suite of products are CanMap Streetfiles, CanMap RouteLogistics, CanMap
Major Roads & Highways, and CanMap Plus+.
GITA Ontario members from the transportation sector will also like what
they see in CanMap RouteLogistics. This DMTI Spatial route optimization
solution has been developed for use within logistics and routing software.
CanMap RouteLogistics precision-based street map data helps customers build
and optimize route manifests and delivery schedules, reduce maintenance and
fuel costs, print delivery maps, and deliver to the right address.
The GITA Ontario Chapter Fall Conference will be held November 16, 2000,
8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Day's Inn - Airport, 6257 Airport Road,
Mississauga, Ontario. For additional inquiries contact Andrew Mackie by
