@TRACK-COMMUNICATIONS(ATRK) @Track Communications, Inc. Reaches New Milestone With More Than 60,000 Units Now in Service On Its Wireless Communications Network

RICHARDSON, Texas, Oct. 12, 2000--@Track Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:ATRK), a leading provider of wireless-based vehicle fleet management and intelligent mobile-asset-tracking solutions, today announced that it has surpassed 60,000 mobile communications units in service on its wireless network, which provides voice and data transmissions and automatic vehicle location (AVL) services to its customers in the United States and Canada.

"We have achieved this important milestone while successfully executing what we believe is the single largest service vehicle communications deployment in the U.S. with various member companies of SBC Communications, Inc.," said Jana Bell, @Track's president and chief executive officer. "We have installed over 25,000 service vehicle units and are in the process of installing another 18,000 units for various SBC companies."

"We believe our success in executing demanding equipment deployment schedules, the strength of our system coverage, and the reliable performance of our equipment and network have contributed significantly to our continued expansion and leadership role in our industry," noted Bell. "We are continuing to pursue our technology plan, which we expect will position @Track to leverage its existing transportation industry expertise and business relationships to compete in the rapidly emerging AVL marketplace."

@Track provides intelligent wireless mobile communications, emergency dispatch, fleet management and mobile-asset-tracking solutions. Its technology, currently covered by 38 issued U.S. and foreign patents and additional U.S. and international patents pending, combines wireless data and voice technologies with GPS satellite location capabilities for vehicle fleet management. The company's mobile asset product, TrackWare(TM), combines the technologies of GPS and wireless control channel messaging to track mobile assets.
