Alventive Licenses Cimmetry's Java Visualization Technology

April 4, 2001 - Alventive, Inc., an innovator of collaborative design software,
and Cimmetry Systems, Inc., a leader in visualization solutions for the
manufacturing, engineering and office automation markets, announced today that
Cimmetry's AutoVue for Java technology will be embedded in the Alventive
Collaborative Design Solution Family.
Cimmetry's robust Web-enabled viewing technology will now be seamlessly
integrated into Alventive's products, enriching Alventive's current 2D viewing
capabilities and increasing users' ability to collaborate visually on multiple
file formats. The enhanced 2D viewing capability complements Alventive's leading
3D viewing technology. All viewing capabilities will be presented in a single
user interface, so that users can access over 200 different engineering,
graphics and Microsoft Office formats without ever leaving the Alventive
environment. Participants can easily markup these documents to communicate
design intent, and, via Alventive's workflow engine, securely communicate ideas
and changes while collaborating more efficiently on design projects of all
types.
Deployed on a corporate extranet, private exchange, or public exchange,
Alventive Collaborative Design Solutions enable manufacturers to overcome
technology and communication barriers and effectively involve the appropriate
