ANNAPOLIS, Md., April 13, 2001--AXS Technologies, whose patented parallel processing technology increases the speed at which high quality digital images are viewed, recently announced the release of EyeSpy 2.0(TM), an upgraded version of its high-speed imaging software.

AXS also announced the appointment of a new CFO, Doug Harrington, and the expansion of its sales force, adding Boris Hughes.

The EyeSpy Image Server, which utilizes striping and pipelining technology to deliver instantaneous access to image intensive files, enables users to increase the speed of electronic delivery of online images, computer-generated designs, maps, satellite imagery, and other data intensive files. EyeSpy 1.0 was released in the fourth quarter of 2000.

EyeSpy 2.0 provides easier programming capabilities, including ASP, JSP, PHP and Javascript, and is equipped with customized toolkits that operate in dynamic web environments. EyeSpy 2.0 supports embedded viewers, PHP, ASP, and JSP script viewers, JavaScript viewer, Pop-up windows, and HTML frames, and operates across an expanded range of Windows, Linux, and Solaris platforms.

"More and more companies are purchasing EyeSpy to deliver faster, clearer images online for everything from e-Business to Mapping to e-Learning," said Katharine Dixon, Vice President of Marketing for AXS. "EyeSpy 2.0 offers a wider range of solutions for our growing customer base."

As it expands its product functionality, AXS is also expanding its management and sales teams. AXS announced the appointment of Doug Harrington as the company's CFO, and added Boris Hughes to its sales force.

Harrington comes to AXS from Information Management Consultants, where he held the position of CFO. Prior to his tenure with Information Management, Harrington spent nineteen years in public accounting, which included a partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds a degree from Duke University.

Hughes brings to AXS thirteen years of business development and account management experience, including six years in sales and sales management. Previous positions held include Regional Sales Manager for Cylex Systems and Account Manager for Xerox. Hughes graduated from the University of Auckland.

"With a new CFO and an expanded sales force, we are in a strong position to aggressively market EyeSpy 2.0, and develop alliances with hosting companies, ISVs, and OEMs," Dixon added.

AXS Technologies has developed and patented software technologies that exponentially increase the speed at which high quality digital imagery is accessed and deployed. Its products utilize cutting-edge parallel processing technology to set new standards in digital imagery by allowing commodity PCs to access in real time, high-resolution raster image extractions with supercomputer performance.

AXS Technologies is part of HPI Holdings SA, a publicly traded Swiss investment company. It is headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland with research and development facilities in Lausanne, Switzerland. EyeSpy(TM) and MapPix(TM) are Trademarks of AXS Technologies, Inc.
