WASHINGTON, April 16, 2001--When AXS Technologies wanted to use the visual power of the web as an
integral sales tool for its new EyeSpy(TM) digital imagery technology, it asked IconMedialab, a leading global e-services firm, for a web
solution that was as good as its product.
The new site--www.axstech.com--serves as an effective and user-friendly product demo by delivering industry-specific applications in
industries as diverse as e-business, e-learning, medical and science, travel and leisure, art and photography, defense and intelligence, and
mapping and GIS. The site highlights the company's first-to-market product, EyeSpy(TM) Image Server, which exponentially increases the
speed at which high resolution imagery is served and allows users to zoom, pan and click to finite details of an image. Current technologies
only address the bandwidth bottleneck issue. AXS's imaging technology is the first to address the server bottleneck.
Greg Moore, Manager of Business Development at IconMedialab's Washington, DC office, said "EyeSpy is not only an intensely visual
product, it can only be understood in the visual context in which it will be used. Our mandate was to develop an e-business solution that
supports AXS's existing business development and sales strategy by improving the functionality, usability, attitude, content and design of
their web-based marketing. With this site, the AXS sales organization now has a tool that helps potential clients see the true advantages of
having superior imaging technology that can be adapted to any electronic environment."
Katharine Dixon, Vice President of Marketing at AXS Technologies, said, "IconMedialab's strategic solution truly delivers on the web's
promise of sales-support technology. Our products address the challenges many computer users face when confronted with tiny thumbnail
pictures, low-quality images and slow access to large imagery with technology that increases the speed, clarity, and ease with which users
view images. The functionality of this website drives that message home in a way that no static presentation or conventional web design
could."
AXS Technologies has developed and patented software technologies that exponentially increase the speed at which high quality digital
imagery is accessed and deployed. Its products utilize cutting-edge parallel processing technology to set new standards in digital imagery by
allowing commodity PCs to access in real time, high-resolution raster image extractions with supercomputer performance. AXS
Technologies is part of HPI Holdings SA, a publicly traded Swiss investment company. It is headquartered in Annapolis, Md. with
research and development facilities in Lausanne, Switzerland.
