SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 17, 2001--Unify Corporation (OTC System:UNFY), a leading provider of extending business applications to the Web, today announced that Pixxures Inc. has built and deployed its e-commerce site with Unify eWave Commerce. Pixxures' customers are now able to order and receive digital mapping products, aerial photography and satellite imagery via Pixxures' new online storefront at www.pixxures.com.

Pixxures, Inc., a leading producer of digital mapping products, developed an e-commerce site to meet its business objective of making high-resolution aerial photography and satellite imagery easily available and less expensive for people of all walks of life. Pixxures produces fast, low-cost digital map imagery collected from both planes and satellites, and delivers it to commercial and government customers via its online store, built on Unify eWave Commerce, a Java(TM)-based enterprise wide e-commerce framework. Because of Unify eWave Commerce's pre-built components, Pixxures was able to get its storefront operational in six weeks.

"Leveraging the component-based framework in Unify eWave Commerce, we were able to quickly bring our e-commerce application to market and deliver our digital mapping imagery products to our customers at a fraction of the cost and time of traditional sources," said Larry Herd, vice president of Internet Development for Pixxures Inc. "Our unique Internet business model required a flexible and innovative e-commerce solution. At www.pixxures.com we now have a high quality commerce Web site for both browsing imagery and providing customers efficient and cost effective Internet access to geographic imagery data."

"Pixxures is a leader in delivering digital mapping imagery products to customers via the Web. They were seeking a robust, flexible and standard-based solution that would get them to market quickly and found it in Unify eWave Commerce," said Dave Glende, chief technology officer for Unify. "This Pixxures site is a powerful example of what companies can do with Unify eWave Commerce."

Based on Java, XML and Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), Unify eWave Commerce provides the framework for companies to build powerful B2C and B2B solutions, using pre-built components such as shopping carts, order management, payment processing and merchandise management, in less time and with lower up-front costs. The Unify eWave Commerce architecture is designed to ensure that existing business processes can be Web-enabled and integrated to support new online initiatives.

Herd also noted that Unify's Consulting Services organization contributed significantly to the success of implementing Pixxures' e-commerce application. A Unify consultant worked on-site with Pixxures to provide knowledge transfer and help ensure the application's optimal performance. "Unify's consulting and support organizations played a vital role in helping us to achieve rapid time to market," he added.

Unify Corporation is a leading provider of solutions for extending business applications to the Web. Unify's proven technology, unparalleled customer support, experienced consulting organization, managed hosting services and partner programs form the comprehensive solution companies need to extend their businesses to the Web quickly, reliably and cost effectively. Headquartered in Sacramento, Unify has offices in Europe and Japan, in addition to a worldwide network of distributors.
