WILLIAMSTON, Mich., Apr 16, 2001 -- As part of its strategic growth and development plan, Universal Map launched a GIS Business Development Division in the first quarter of 2001. Heading up this division is Jason McKinley, VP GIS Business Development. McKinley's focus will be leveraging Universal Map's extensive library of high-quality digital geographic data. An additional focus will be marketing new products and services to multiple platforms and industries.

"This is a great opportunity for our company, and a natural growth progression based on our assets and industry experience," stated Don Reeder, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

Prior to coming to Universal Map this year, McKinley headed up the GIS Development Division of Plante & Moran, the ninth largest certified public accounting and management consulting firm in the nation. In addition, he worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation, where he provided travel demand analysis and forecasting techniques for roadway projects and designed GIS implementation and database development.

Celebrating 25 years of service, Universal Map is one of the largest publishers and distributors of quality travel products in the United States. Headquartered near Lansing, Michigan, it also maintains locations in Daytona Beach, Orlando, northern Kentucky and central Vermont. For additional information, call 800-829-6277, or visit www.universalmap.com .
