HUNTSVILLE, Ala., April 20, 2001--Intergraph Public Safety (IPS)(NASDAQ:INGR) has been selected by Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, to provide a multi-agency computer aided dispatch (CAD) system for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS). The contract award is valued at $1.7 million.

Covering more than 1,068 square miles and serving approximately 375,000 people, Westmoreland County receives more than 275,000 calls for service a year. The new CAD system will support 117 fire departments, 36 law enforcement agencies, 30 EMS units, emergency management for 65 municipalities, HAZMAT response, county detective, county coroner, children's bureau, county park police, and county sheriff.

"The Board of Commissioners of Westmoreland County are committed to providing the best 9-1-1/Emergency Management Service for the residents of our County and their visitors, and with the newly formed partnership with IPS, we feel it will distinguish us as a leader in the Public Safety sector. With the completion of a $2 million communications center, 21 position console system, and a 21 position phone system, the IPS CAD solution is the final piece of the puzzle to complete the state-of-the-art communications center," said Mark D. Brammell, chief of support services, Westmoreland County D.P.S.

"Intergraph Public Safety welcomes the opportunity to participate in such a technologically advanced communications center. We are confident that our CAD solution will enable Westmoreland County to provide more responsive services to their citizens," said Dr. Roger O. Coupland, president of Intergraph Public Safety.
