BOULDER, Colo., April 23, 2001--Spatial Corp., a market-leading provider of world-class 3D software
components, and IMSI(R), developer of visual content, design and graphics software, today announced their expanded OEM partnership that
includes the licensing of new ACIS(R) functionality for TurboCAD(R) Professional and incorporates the many benefits of Spatial's new OEM
Partner Program.
IMSI has been an OEM customer of Spatial's since 1996 and is one of the many ACIS licensees that have readily adopted Spatial's new
OEM Partner Program. The new program was especially attractive to IMSI because of Spatial's customer-focused business strategy and its new
packaging of ACIS. Recently available with the release of ACIS 6.3, this new packaging expanded the capabilities of ACIS by including a
number of technologies previously sold as separate components. By integrating ACIS shelling and lofting functionality in TurboCAD
Professional, IMSI is able to provide millions of CAD users with more advanced 3D modeling capabilities, fostering TurboCAD's continued
product success.
"Spatial's new OEM Partner Program has made a world of difference in the ease with which we can offer our customers advanced 3D
modeling functionality," said Rob Berry, Director of CAD, IMSI, and Chairman, OpenDWG Alliance. "We are extremely pleased with the new
management at Spatial in regards to their commitment to product quality and customer support. We are confident that, through our partnership
with Spatial, we will continue to offer our customer base of small business and independent users, as well as corporate AEC and Mechanical
professionals, with the highest level of CAD functionality at a fraction of the cost of our competitors."
"By expanding access to ACIS and enhancing our customer services and support, we are working together with our customers to help them
to continuously introduce new and enhanced product functionality to their customers," said Joe Walsh, Vice President North America Sales,
Spatial. "Spatial is reaching out to all of its OEM customers to ensure they take advantage of the many new opportunities that exist when
working with Spatial today. Our new pricing model and commitment to shared success strengthens our OEM partnerships and provides our
customers with world-class 3D component technology."
About Spatial's OEM Partner Program
Spatial's new OEM Partner Program is designed to allow OEM licensees to concentrate their financial resources on software development, to
positively impact product time-to-market, to support customers throughout all states of development, and to provide customers with broader
access to Spatial's award-winning 3D technologies. Since its inception, Spatial's OEM Partner Program has expanded Spatial's large
international customer base and opened the door for all companies, large and small, to integrate advanced ACIS 3D geometric modeling into
their applications.
Since its inception in 1982, International Microcomputer Software, Inc. (IMSI) has evolved to one of the world's leading developers and
publishers of design software for businesses and consumers, to an Internet-based graphics and home design company. The company
experienced its first major success with the launch of TurboCAD, a computer-aided design program that has received worldwide acclaim for its
functionality and ease of use. To date, TurboCAD has shipped more than one million units, making it a forerunner in computer-aided design,
including the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) and mechanical markets. The company's next major success is PC Magazines
Editor's Choice FloorPlan 3D(R) home design software, which also has over 1 million users.
In addition to its historical business developing award-winning home and office productivity software, IMSI owns and operates two Internet
businesses -- ArtToday.com and Design.Net. ArtToday has 2.4 million members and offers subscribers over 1.2 million graphics, photos, fonts
and animations. The site consistently posts page views that near the 30 million mark every month and adds an average of 65,000 new members a
month. Drawing from the company's 15 years experience in the development of visual content and design technology, IMSI is currently
developing Design.Net whose charter is to offer interactive 3D design, viewing and editing online. For more information, please visit IMSI's Web
