MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 10, 2001--Digital River, Inc. (Nasdaq:DRIV), a leading global e-commerce outsource provider, today announced that it is building, managing and hosting e-commerce operations for Hitachi Software Global Technology (HSGT), the leading developer of imaging and raster-to-vector conversion software for Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). As part of the agreement, Digital River is providing transaction management, digital product fulfillment and 24X7 customer service for HSGT's recently launched e-commerce site, located at http://www.hsgt.com.

"Digital River is a leader in the e-commerce industry. We remain focused on growing our business," said Jay Kerutis, Digital River's president of Software and Digital Commerce Services. "Thousands of companies like HGST are outsourcing their e-commerce operations to us because we have developed a deep set of e-commerce skills and a world-class infrastructure to help them successfully extend their businesses to the Internet."

The new site introduces HSGT's FeatureXTR software application, which offers a fast and easy way to extract features from satellite and aerial imagery. FeatureXTR supports HSGT's Image Series software products developed for imaging and feature extraction for CAD and GIS data.

"We were seeking an outsource provider, but we gained a partner," said Robert Carroll, HSGT's vice president of sales. "Digital River offered a reliable, proven e-commerce infrastructure. The company has developed the automated business processes that make buying over the Internet a seamless process for our end-customers."
