The results are in! GeoSpatial World 2001, the inaugural Intergraph
GeoSpatial Users Community International Training and Management
Conference, was a great success. Held June 18-20 in Atlanta, Georgia,
the event attracted conferees from 51 countries and 39 states. When
attendees were asked to rate their overall satisfaction with the
conference, GeoSpatial World earned a rating of 8.22 on a scale of
1-to-10, where 1 equals "not at all satisfied" and 10 equals "extremely
satisfied."
A positive and upbeat attitude rippled throughout the conference as more
than 800 attendees, including vendors, users, and Intergraph personnel,
exchanged business ideas and the latest news in the mapping and GIS
world. Here's what a few of the attendees had to say about the event:
"The overall conference was very informative. I attended many of the
workshops and technical sessions, and they brought home what GIS around
the world is all about. From a networking standpoint, I met many people
who provided insight and made what I hope will prove to be long-lasting
business relationships."
Gale Sampson, chief operating officer/director IT,
LAM Associates Inc., Vienna, Virginia

"We enjoyed the conference! The short courses were excellent. It was
nice to have an event dedicated to one discipline - everyone we met had
something useful to share! Hands-on learning was great!"
Robert Laake,
Texas Correctional Industries
"I found GeoSpatial World 2001 in Atlanta to be both informative and
stimulating. The case-study/experience-based lectures provided useful
ideas for my own projects. Furthermore, face-to-face discussions with
Intergraph developers and partners provided a great opportunity to gain
useful tips and insights."
Rudolf Leuenberger,
Dipl. Ing. Geomatik FH/STV,
Leiter GIS-Fachstelle des Kantons Zug
"The GeoSpatial World 2001 conference was a great opportunity for me to
learn, to synthesize and assimilate the full spectrum of GIS software,
applications and future developments. Intergraph provided a very
well-hosted and well-managed conference with streams of interest for a
variety of interest groups. The opportunity to be a presenter at the
conference was also welcome - the LIC business operation and use of GIS
is a new area for Intergraph. The benefits and support opportunities to
both customers and solution providers at the conference will be
long-standing.
A particular highlight was the opportunity to network with other GIS
users, with the technical team from Huntsville head office and the
various global representatives, all bringing new views to a large group
of people. I would recommend the conference as a very worthwhile forum
for anybody, those new to GIS solutions and those who have wide
experience - 2002 should be great!"
