New `WSI On Campus' Program Donates Industry-Leading Weather Graphics Equipment to Colleges and Universities

BILLERICA, Mass., Jan. 15, 2001--WSI Corporation today announced "WSI on Campus," an innovative program that delivers state-of-the-art weather workstations for producing broadcast quality weather shows to qualifying U.S. colleges and universities for use in training their students in broadcast meteorology.

At no charge, WSI will provide eligible schools with two WeatherProducer(R) workstations and related application software, including Showfx(R) animation software with terrain fly-through (True 3D(TM)) and worldwide map creation software (MapMaker Plus(SM)). WSI also will provide free installation and training, as well as annual software upgrades.

In addition, participating schools will be able to purchase the comprehensive UniversitySuite(SM) weather data package and additional workstation hardware at significant educational discounts. Some minimum investment will be required.

"In preparing students for careers in broadcast meteorology, universities with access to the latest tools and services have a clear advantage," says Jim Brihan, senior meteorologist and vice president of marketing at WSI. "In addition, hands-on experience with industry-leading equipment should enhance job opportunities for graduating students in broadcasting, industry, government, or higher education."

Interested colleges and universities should contact Jim Brihan at WSI Corporation at 978-262-0673.
