Mobile GIS Disaster Recovery Application to be presented at IDRA Conference
The International Disaster Recovery Association will be spotlighting a
Global Information System application at the 11th Annual Conference on
Contingency Planning and Telecommunications, April 9-12, 2001 in Providence,
Rhode Island, USA.
"Mobile Global Information System (GIS) for Contingency Planning" will be
presented by John Leeuwenburg, International Sales Manager, Tensing SKS,
(John is from The Netherlands). Originally developed for directing field
engineers and providing on-line status of service orders, this technology is
easily adaptable to contingency planning and disaster recovery operations.
The objective is to seamlessly integrate, dispatch, mobile data, scheduling,
outage management, personnel, location, priority, equipment and operations
management with Global Information Systems (GIS). From locating and
restoring assets to repositioning hundreds of satellite dishes, this may be
the answer for you.
