Vicinity Scores with New Business Finder LineDrive Directions; 'Blueprint' Maps Easier to Use for Web and Wireless Applications

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 26, 2001--Vicinity Corporation (Nasdaq:VCNT) introduced today Business Finder LineDrive(SM) directions. LineDrive directions improve upon standard route maps by more clearly showing the route, highlighting every turn and street with driving distances and full street names helping to make navigation easier. These simplified maps are ideal for Web, WAP and other wireless applications and will be provided as an option to standard route maps and driving directions.

Using the LineDrive directions, consumers can more easily anticipate turns and highway exits, and because LineDrive directions are much easier to read, users are relieved of the need to attempt to memorize driving directions in advance. "Standard route maps are often very difficult to use while in route. LineDrive maps, essentially a turn-by-turn 'blueprint' of the driving route, are much more user friendly," said Emerick Woods, president and CEO of Vicinity Corporation.

LineDrive directions are can be viewed on Vicinity's MapBlast!(R) Web site located at www.mapblast.com.
