GIS in the Rockies 2001 Exhibition
Sells 25% of Booths in First Two Weeks
Denver, Colo. -- The Board of Directors of the 14th Annual GIS in the Rockies is pleased to announce
that the opportunity to exhibit at the Conference is drawing strong industry response. The invitation to exhibit was sent to
more than 200 companies and organizations on the 5th of March, and within two weeks 25% of the booths were reserved.
Scott Carter, Principal of Digital Data Services in Lakewood, said he sent in his reservation within minutes of receiving the
announcement because "We are a new company with strong roots in the Colorado Front Range, and we know this
conference will introduce us to the majority of decision-makers and influencers in the Rocky Mountain region."
Nirav Shah, founder and President of EI Technologies in Parker, has been one on the first to reserve a booth at GIS in the
Rockies for many years now. "We find this show an excellent choice for finding out the latest industry developments in the
Front Range. And it gives us an opportunity to meet new prospects and to enhance our relationships with existing clients. Last
year's show at the same venue was the most successful so far, and we expect this year to be even better."
Other confirmed exhibitors include PCI Geomatics; ERDAS, Inc.; Surdex Corp.; ESRI; Geographic Information Services;
Merrick & Company; Earth Resource Mapping; Farragut Systems, Inc.; CompassCom, Inc.; Pacific Western Technologies;
Hitachi Software Global Technology; TRW; Pixxures; and Horizons, Inc.
Dave Murray, Chair of this year's Board of Directors, expresses a view shared by many GIS professionals when he says,
"The support of our exhibitors is crucial to the success of the conference. Their participation provides invaluable information
to attendees about the products and services available. And the financial support they provide helps the industry long-term.
The income from the conference is used by the sponsoring societies to provide scholarships and educational events back to
the region. We are very fortunate to have such enthusiastic support from our exhibitors."
GIS in the Rockies 2001 will be September 18-20, 2001 at the Plaza at the Mart, a facility at the Denver Merchandise
Mart. The program will include workshops on Tuesday and concurrent technical sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, all
oriented around the theme "Convergence of Information & Geography for Everyone." The Exhibition opens after the
Keynote Session on Wednesday and continues through Thursday afternoon. To reserve a booth, contact Tina Cary, Exhibits
Coordinator, at 303-774-8415 or tcary@caryandassociates.com.
