StereoEyes Wired Brings Stereo3D Viewing Experience to Ordinary Desktop Computers

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., March 27, 2001-- StereoGraphics' Entry-Level Stereo3D Solution Ideal for Classroom & Training Environments

StereoGraphics(R) Corporation, the world's leading supplier of stereoscopic visualization products, today announced that it is now shipping the StereoEyes(TM) Wired Stereoscopic Visualization System. StereoEyes Wired enables cost-effective stereoscopic viewing of non-stereo OpenGL software applications on almost any graphics card on Windows 98/Me platform and on selected graphics cards for Windows NT/2000.

"Prior to the StereoEyes family of visualization products, stereoscopic viewing was out of reach for many scientific and engineering professionals due to the prerequisite high-end graphics card and stereo-enabled software application," said Ian Matthew, director of marketing, StereoGraphics Corporation. "The StereoEyes Wired system includes everything you need for Stereo3D visualization on Windows 98/Me platform at a very low price. It is ideal for desktop PC users who want to improve their visualization systems and especially for multiple workstation setups, such as classrooms and laboratories where wireless systems could experience emitter cross talk."

StereoGraphics' Stereo3D visualization technology allows CAD, GIS/Mapping, Chemistry and Medical professionals to review complex 3D computer graphics more realistically. Realistic visualization with true depth perception reduces time spent on graphical data interpretation and improves data understanding, both essential in mechanical and architectural design, GIS and medical diagnosis.

The StereoEyes Wired system consists of three separate components: the StereoEyes Wired eyewear, a StereoEnabler(TM) and a CD-ROM with Stereo3D software drivers. The eyewear is a pair of mid-range, stereoscopic visualization glasses with shuttering liquid crystal lenses that can be worn alone, or over prescription glasses. The glasses are made of a lightweight, durable matte black composite material and have been designed to fit comfortably.

The StereoEyes Wired eyewear connects directly to the StereoEnabler connector (via an 8 foot cable): the StereoEnabler acts as a pass through VGA connector for the monitor and sends stereo synchronization signals from the monitor to the eyewear, giving users the ability to view in stereo regardless of the capabilities of their graphics card. The CD-ROM contains drivers necessary to support Stereo3D visualization for applications running on Windows 98/Me along with free demonstration versions of professional software applications including MSI's WebLab(R) ViewerPro(TM), Chasm Graphics(R)' Sudden Depth(R) and Autodesk(R)'s Volo(TM) View Express.

StereoGraphics' StereoEyes Wired System is available immediately for a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $199US. For additional product, sales or reseller information on StereoEyes Wired and other products from StereoGraphics, call 800/783-2660 (outside the United States, 415/459-4500), visit the StereoGraphics Web site at www.stereographics.com or send an email to sales@stereographics.com.
