TULSA, Okla., July 25, 200l--Continuing a 44-year tradition of industry-leading innovations, Lowrance Electronics Inc. (Nasdaq:LEIX) unveiled its exciting all-new 2002 SONAR and Global Positioning System (GPS) product line to marine electronics dealers and distributors at the American Sportfishing Association's 44th annual ICAST trade-only show.

Lowrance was the only SONAR and GPS manufacturer to introduce new products for 2002 at ICAST, the industry's traditional venue for the debut of new sportfishing equipment. Accenting enhanced technology, features, and diversity of choices, Lowrance showcased eleven all-new compact models for both the "Lowrance" and "Eagle" brand models.

"It was one of our best introductions ever. Our new Lowrance and Eagle offerings were extremely well-received and generated substantial excitement. Judging by the dealer and distributor response, our innovative 2002 products are going to be, as we expected, a tremendous success," said Darrell Lowrance, co-founder, president, and chief executive officer.

"We believe the consumer appeal of this new line, possibly the strongest new product group ever developed by Lowrance, will increase sales and expand our GPS and SONAR market share. Each of these new products represents our best in advanced technology and innovative features. Additionally, this is the most competitive pricing we've ever packed into a compact case," said Lowrance.

Future sales performance of these newly-enhanced Lowrance and Eagle products is expected to easily build on the current popularity, sales success and momentum of Lowrance's revolutionary, large-screen SONAR and GPS units launched last year. Featuring the Company's first color, high-resolution liquid crystal displays, the 2001 models heralded Lowrance's unique industry-leading innovation of employing digital Multi-Media Card technology for recording and playback of SONAR and GPS details.

For 2002, the new Lowrance and Eagle lines present a wider array of value-added features designed to advance the success of modern anglers and recreational navigators.

    NEW FEATURES HIGHLIGHTS

Improved viewing with eye appeal, both product lines feature a newly-advanced liquid crystal display fitted with a sporty new compact case design for attractive and convenient mounting, even in tight spaces.

All SONAR units now provide 200 kHz operation, and many models now include twice the transmit power and water surface temperature readings. Also included is the new FishReveal(TM) advancement that exposes fish previously undetectable when hiding in underwater cover, and the new HyperScroll(TM) feature to display fish targets at boat speeds up to 40 m.p.h.

To please boating, highway, and off-road navigators, new compact GPS models tout higher-definition displays for improved readability, built-in Wide Area Augmentation Service (WAAS) providing more precise position readings in selected locations, and the exclusive Multi-Media Card feature for instant memory expansion and convenience in creating and displaying high-detail mapping.

Lowrance and Eagle products are completely sealed and waterproof for even harsh saltwater environments and are backed by a full one-year warranty.

    LOWRANCE 2002 PRODUCTS

Topping the 2002 Lowrance SONAR roster, the new high-resolution X91 is a powerful performer loaded with advanced features required by serious anglers and tournament professionals. The mid-range X71 introduces a new, impressive package of excellent fish finder features and affordability. For cost-conscious, entry-level anglers, the new X51 ranks as an incredible "best buy" with a wealth of advanced SONAR features at the lowest price.

In GPS/mapping innovation, the new recording GlobalMap(R) 2400 presents precision satellite navigation, high-definition display, built-in custom background map, custom mapping options, and Multi-Media Card convenience wrapped in an attractive compact case. For anglers wanting the best of both worlds, the new Lowrance LMS-240 combination SONAR/GPS unites the best X91 and GlobalMap 2400 features in one unit.

    EAGLE 2002 PRODUCTS

The 2002 Eagle(R) line-up rolls out improved editions of successful products introduced last year. Making fish finding simple and very affordable, the new FishEasy(TM) 2 offers higher-resolution displays, twice the transmit power, and a sporty new compact case design. Added choices include the new FishEasy 2T with water surface temperature readings, plus the handy FishEasy(TM) 2 Portable for ice fishing and go-anywhere angling.

The new Eagle TriFinder(TM) 2 likewise sports enhanced display, performance, and cosmetic advancements while delivering an impressive 150-degrees of super-wide underwater SONAR coverage.

Rounding out the Eagle 2002 SONAR line, the new FishMark(TM) 160 and FishMark(TM) 240 bring together larger screens, excellent performance, versatility, power, and more fish finder value for the dollar with two models to give anglers a choice of screen resolutions and select features to fit their preference.
