GITA Announces 2002 ExecuNet Forum: “Getting Back to Basics: Continuing Transformation in Pragmatic Times” March 17-18, 2002 • Tampa Marriott Waterside

Aurora, Colo., October 8, 2001: The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) announces an exclusive event for executives from the utility sector--electric, gas, water, wastewater, public works, pipeline, and telecommunications. This year’s forum theme is “Getting Back to Basics: Continuing Transformation in Pragmatic Times.” The slowing global economy and changed business climate have thrust technology into a central role, not just as a means of achieving greater efficiency, but as a strategic tool to provide better customer service, help leverage existing systems, control IT expenditures, and manage risk.

Only those executives who understand the latest business and technology trends can hope to survive and thrive. This focused two-day event brings utility and solution provider executives together in a highly participatory yet neutral setting to explore enterprisewide productivity enhancements made possible by the use of geospatial information technology.

Wilma Kumar-Rubock, Vice President and CIO of Washington Gas, Springfield, Virginia, is this year’s forum chair. She states, “As a senior executive, your business life has changed dramatically over the past year. ExecuNet will focus on key issues facing businesses today, guided by CXOs of organizations like yours. Join us--to listen, to share, to network with your peers.”

Developed for a high-level executive audience, the ExecuNet forum is intended to better prepare executives and industry leaders to make informed decisions regarding those enterprise geospatial and information technology solutions that can best support organizational needs. Documentation of strategies developed during the forum will be discussed and analyzed.

Executives are invited to join this unique forum to learn and network with others and influence industry direction. Attendance will be limited to ensure balanced participation from both the user and vendor communities. For more information on the ExecuNet forum, call GITA at 303-337-0513 or visit their Web site at www.gita.org .
