LONGMONT, Colorado, October 25, 2001, DigitalGlobe announced today that VARGIS has partnered to become a North American Reseller of QuickBird data. The agreement, which provides distribution rights across the United States, has a three-year term.

DigitalGlobe's QuickBird, successfully launched on October 18, 2001, is the world's highest resolution commercial imaging satellite, providing imagery with 61-cm resolution. Following the satellite commissioning period, 61-cm resolution panchromatic data and 2.44-m resolution multispectral data will be available to customers. Applications for this imagery include detailed mapping and resource management, urban planning, telecommunications, and agriculture.

"DigitalGlobe partnered with VARGIS based on their experience and reputation selling digital ortho imagery. VARGIS customers are accustomed to working with the highest resolution imagery available commercially and can easily integrate DigitalGlobe imagery into their existing systems," said Ron Davis, North American reseller manager at DigitalGlobe.

Greg Tilley, president of VARGIS, states "VARGIS is very pleased to be selected by DigitalGlobe as their first North American reseller. Our clients benefit from the availability of high quality ortho imagery, and we see DigitalGlobe as a significant new source of panchromatic and MS data."

The company offers geographic information products through its digitalglobe.com on-line imagery store, an Internet-based global archive of geographic information available to commercial businesses.
