Municipal Solutions Group Appoints Former Finance Minister to Board of Directors

VICTORIA- Municipal Solutions Group, Inc. (CDNX: MSM), parent company to Municipal Software Corporation, a leading developer of local government business process automation software, announced today that Mel Couvelier was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors.

Couvelier replaces Director Joseph Montgomery and joins CEO Robert Foo, President Rob Bennett, Vice President of Product Development Troy Kusy and Secretary and CFO Gabriel Tsang on the Municipal Solutions Group Board of Directors.

Couvelier brings an important focus to Municipal from his public sector experience. He served as Minister of Finance for the Province of British Columbia (BC) and as Mayor of Saanich Municipality for 10 years. It is from his experience as Mayor that he understands the need for products like CityView, and for the necessity of e-Government initiatives to provide more responsive service to the community, and to deal with the constant off-loading from senior levels of government.

Couvelier has been following the growth of Municipal Software Corporation for over 20 years. Couvelier commented, "I have a longstanding interest in the growth and prosperity of this company. I think Municipal has a unique product for local government with a tremendous future."

He has a long history of business, technology and political involvement in BC. He has served as a board member for several organizations including BC Bancorp and numerous privately owned BC companies. He also served as Chairman of the Union of BC Municipalities and he is a founding Director of the Greater Victoria Economic Development Commission, Victoria Technology Association and the Horticultural Society of the Pacific. He recently finished coordinating the Sanscha Community Hall $5 million fund drive in Sidney and currently sits on the Board of the Victoria Airport Authority.
