Digital Map Leader Enables Fastest Package Delivery System in the World to Provide Fast, Accurate Routing Solutions

Menlo Park, CA (January 31, 2002) - Tele Atlas North America, the US arm of the world leader in digital mapping Tele Atlas, and premier provider of digital map databases and real-time traffic information for the U.S., has signed an agreement with NextJet, Inc., the premier immediate response logistics provider. NextJet selected Tele Atlas North America to provide the crucial map and routing data needed to fuel NextJet's digital transit management system, which evaluates millions of potential shipment possibilities and automatically selects the most efficient routing option. Tele Atlas North America's highly accurate and reliable map data will be used to geocode NextJet's pickup and destination locations and to provide the street data enabling them to calculate the most efficient routes possible and execute their trademark same-day delivery service. NextJet will employ a server-based solution, integrating Tele Atlas North America's map data and ESRI's ArcIMS RouteServer extension.

"Time, precision and reliability are crucial elements in the success of our business," said Paul Orsak, chief technology officer of NextJet. "With a highly accurate digital mapping database and data acquisition techniques that guarantee some of the best quality in the industry, Tele Atlas North America has the solution we need to help us optimize our service and raise the bar for the expedited transportation industry." In addition to utilizing Tele Atlas North America's map data for their domestic

routing needs, NextJet will benefit from a number of advantages through the new partnership. As well as premier map data in the U.S., Tele Atlas North America also has the industry's best international map solution, providing valuable possibilities for future international expansion. Furthermore, NextJet will take advantage of Tele Atlas North America's traffic data which will offer invaluable traffic pattern information that can be used to further increase the efficiency of NextJet's ground routing.

"Tele Atlas offers an excellent routing framework from North America to Europe and a close working relationship with ESRI, a spatial component software provider," said Scot Powell, director, location based solutions for NextJet. "We value their commitment to us as a business partner, not simply another vendor."

"We are dedicated to delivering the best data solution available in the industry," said Richard Selmeier, president of Tele Atlas North America. "We offer our customers the accuracy, performance and support required to enable them to excel in their industries. We look forward to a successful partnership with NextJet and seeing them propel their delivery system to new industry heights with our data."
