ESRI Telecom and Location-Based Services Summit 2002 April 17-18, 2002

    ESRI, the world leader in geographic information system (GIS) technology, is pleased to invite you to attend the Third Annual Telecom and Location-Based Services (LBS) Summit, April 16–18, 2002, at the Renaissance Dallas–Richardson Hotel in Richardson, Texas. The Renaissance Hotel is located in the heart of the telecommunications district.

    Who should attend the Telecom Summit?

    The Telecom Summit is for any ESRI user, potential user, or business partner with a special interest in the telecommunications industry. The Telecom Summit is a dynamic forum for ESRI telecommunication users to network, find solutions, and unify to affect technology enhancements for telecommunication applications in ESRI® GIS software. Previous attendees represented wireless carriers, local and long-distance companies, WLL operators, CLECs, equipment manufacturers, consultants, data conversion companies, and many more.

    With hundreds of attendees, the summit is a unique opportunity for you to meet with other ESRI telecommunication users, ESRI staff, information technology managers, executives, engineers, planners, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) professionals, and dispatch officers to discuss important issues and exchange information and ideas on how GIS technology can help solve complex problems within your industry. This two-day event will include presentations by GIS professionals from around the world, a plenary session with a keynote address by an industry leader, vendor exhibits, and breakout sessions.

    Who should attend the LBS Summit?

    The LBS Summit is a unique event and venue for any ESRI user, potential user, or business partner who is deploying or planning to deploy, develop, or offer any component of the complete end-to-end wireless Internet LBS solution. These areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, mobile positioning technology, mobile location management, LBS application development, thin client application development, LBS offerings, content aggregation, and other value-added middleware components that optimize contemporary LBS. A full day of LBS activities will be held on Thursday, April 18, and will include a plenary session, vendor presentations, a discussion on the state of the industry, a technology overview, and other related programs.

    Registration

    Registration Fee: $150. Register by March 1, 2002, and pay only $125.
    Registration fee includes all scheduled sessions and presentations, the Tuesday evening social, lunch on Wednesday and Thursday, dinner on Wednesday night, and the GIS Solutions EXPO vendor exhibits.

    Call for Papers

    This meeting provides a great opportunity to share information and experiences with your peers and to help shape ESRI’s and other vendor’s products. Telecommunication users are encouraged to submit papers and help make this meeting a success. Presentations should be approximately 30 minutes, followed by 15 minutes for a question and answer period. If additional time is required, please advise. If a paper is included, the presenter should plan to provide copies at the meeting, as no proceedings will be published. All papers and presentations should be noncommercial.

    This year’s committee will evaluate all papers and make selections based on topic, content, and time available. Authors of all papers will be notified after the selection process. A detailed program of presentations and events will be provided prior to the conference.
