IRVING, TX. Feb. 27, 2002 – Spatial Data Inc. and SoftPOWER Inc., today announced that they have teamed with U.S. Telemetry to market and sell location-based street lighting solutions to utility companies in the United States.

“We look forward to a mutually beneficial long-term relationship,” said Richard A. Peters, President and CEO of Spatial Data. “Our Street Light Management SystemÔ (SLMS) will continue to be truly state-of-the-art with the addition of this interface to U.S. Telemetry’s leading edge technology”. Bret Smith, President and CEO of SoftPOWER further adds, "With U.S. Telemetry's remote sensing technology, SLMS v4.0(tm) enables our clients to deliver the highest possible quality of street lighting to their customers while demonstrating a significant cost reduction in operational expense."

SLMS v4.0 is a fully integrated information management program for street lighting that merges all lighting management operational functions with GIS, and enables dramatic cost savings through predictive maintenance, streamlined operations and energy conservation. Written in Java, SLMS v4.0Ô employs an Oracle 9i database engine and is fully integratable to most CIS, WMS and 311 apps.

Ray Spratlin, Senior Vice President of USTC, states, “The combination of the SLMS 4.0 database and USTC's telemetry technology creates a near perfect information picture for street and area lighting management. This is truly a case where two technologies complement each other to the advantage of the customer."
