LEICA GEOSYSTEMS NAMES VICE PRESIDENT FOR CONSTRUCTION MARKETS IN NORTH AMERICA

Leica Geosystems Inc. has announced the appointment of Robby Dudley as vice president, construction sales for North America.

According to Matthew Smith, president of Leica Geosystems Inc., Dudley's appointment reflects a major new focus on the construction market resulting from Leica's acquisition of Laser Alignment, Inc. earlier this year. Dudley will have responsibility for sales of a wide range of surveying, laser measurement and machine control products into construction markets in the United States and Canada.

Dudley said, "Leica has long been the premier manufacturer of precision measurement products for the surveying market worldwide. With the acquisition of Laser Alignment, Leica is now in a position to enter the construction market segment with the same quality manufacturing and product development processes that created a leadership position in precision surveying products. Those quality processes will lead to mutually profitable business partnerships with our new and existing dealers across North America."

Dudley was formerly director of operations and sales for the Ben Meadows Company, a global direct marketing company in the natural resource industry. He has over 20 years experience in surveying and construction sales management with emphasis in dealer network management and direct sales operations.

Leica Geosystems, with worldwide headquarters in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, develops, manufactures and markets systems for surveying, mapping and position determination. The company, with 2,750 employees, has a turnover of over 600 million Swiss francs and is listed on the Swiss Exchange. It is structured in six divisions: Surveying and Engineering, GIS and Mapping, Industrial Measurement, Special Products, Consumer Products and New Businesses (Cyrax). Along with the Swiss facilities, the company also has development and production subsidiaries in America and Asia and is represented by 20 sales units and more than 100 representatives worldwide.
