INDUS Corporation Awarded Business Applications and Sustaining Engineering (BASE) Services Contract Supporting NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center

VIENNA, Va., Jan 22, 2002 -- INDUS Corporation (INDUS) announced today their award from NASA to provide Business Applications and Sustaining Engineering (BASE) services to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. The contract supports GSFC's Applications Development Branch (ADB) with the goal of migrating and web-enabling Goddard's current legacy business applications and providing overall IT architecture, enterprise infrastructure, and sustaining systems engineering for Goddard's business information systems that support GSFC scientists, engineers, and administrative personnel.

The contract, expected to start on February 1, 2002, has a two-year base period with one three-year option period and is valued at $55 million dollars over the total five-year period. For this effort, INDUS selected NCI Information Systems (NCI), of McLean, VA, as the sole subcontractor because of their vast knowledge of the business systems environment at other NASA centers.

"We are honored to be selected by NASA and are truly excited about building this new partnership with Goddard to assist pushing their technologies forward and delivering the highest quality business applications and enterprise infrastructure support -- ensuring mission success," said Shiv Krishnan, INDUS President & CEO. This contract marks the first NASA endeavor for INDUS Corporation, to which Krishnan credits, "doing the IT work that we do best, picking an outstanding business partner, working in total partnership, and listening to the customer's needs."

The NASA BASE contract builds on the company's strategy of broadening their enterprise systems engineering and web applications capabilities within key business application areas, while expanding their customer base into new agencies.
