Avenza Systems Inc. Hires New Vice-President, Business Development

Mississauga, ON, January 28, 2002 - Avenza Systems Inc., the developer of the
MAPublisher map production software, announces the appointment of Jeff
Hoedeman to the newly created position of Vice-President, Business
Development, effective immediately.

the makers of the FME data translation software. Jeff is a professional engineer
and has extensive experience in marketing and business development for
software products in the GIS industry. Jeff will be responsible for all marketing,
product promotions, reseller channel development and sales initiatives at Avenza
Systems Inc.
