GDT Partners With ESRI To Provide North American Coverage for ArcLogistics Route and Geography Network; Agreements Provide Seamless U.S. and Canadian Coverage

SAN DIEGO, Jul 8, 2002 ( Geographic Data Technology, Inc. (Lebanon, NH), a developer of premier map databases, today announced that ESRI will incorporate the company's Canadian data into its ArcLogistics Route and Geography Network products.

Both ArcLogistics Route and Geography Network currently include GDT's U.S. street and address data. The addition of information compiled by GDT's Canadian subsidiary, GDT-Canada, will provide users with a consistent, comprehensive, seamless data source for cross-border applications.

"We're excited about the inclusion of GDT's Canadian data into these products," said Jack Dangermond, president of ESRI. "GDT provides a single source of U.S. and Canadian street and address information, which gives our users consistent data between the two countries, assuring that any cross-border applications function reliably and efficiently."

ESRI will use GDT's Dynamap(R) /Transportation North America for use in its ArcLogistics Route vehicle routing and logistics software application to give seamless coverage between the U.S. and Canada, allowing users to provide logistics solutions in the U.S., Canada or across the border.

Compiled from a vast network of sources, Dynamap/Transportation provides street and address coverage, highly accurate one-way and restricted turn information, accurate representation of limited access highways, preferred routing names, and exit point layers.

ArcLogistics Route software is a complete solution for complex routing and scheduling problems. Users can create dynamic routes and schedules to minimize costs and improve customer service in environments ranging from small fleet operations to large multi-user organizations.

ESRI has also licensed GDT-Canada's Dynamap(R) Canada to supplement its use of Dynamap/2000(R) on the Geography Network web site ( www.geographynetwork.com). With this new agreement, Geography Network users can download street data for both the U.S. and Canada from the Geography Network Data Download Service. Users can preview the data they wish to license online and then electronically purchase and receive the data via an e-commerce system. Users can select up to 12 FSAs of Canadian data and up to 12 ZIP Codes of U.S. data during any single transaction.

Dynamap/2000 and Dynamap Canada provide seamless street and address coverage in central cities, rural areas, and fast-growing suburbs. Both databases include landmark and water features.

The Geography Network ( www.geographynetwork.com) is a global network of geographic information users and providers. It provides the infrastructure needed to enable the sharing of geographic information between data providers, service providers and users around the world. The Internet is used to deliver geographic content to the user's browser and desktop. Through the Geography Network, users can access many types of geographic content including live maps, downloadable data, and more advanced services. The Geography Network content is distributed at many locations around the world, providing you access to the latest information available directly from the source.
