VARGIS Hires New Executive Manager

Herndon, VA June 2002 - VARGIS, LLC is pleased to announce that Larry Konty has been hired as Chief Operating Officer for the company. Prior to joining VARGIS, Konty was VP of Operations for Pixxures, Inc in Denver, CO and Director of Customer Service for Space Imaging in Lanham, MD. He brings over 20 years of management and experience in the GIS field to his new post.

According to VARGIS President Greg Tilley, “Mr. Konty brings seasoned management expertise into our rapidly growing organization. This appointment is key to improving our performance and operating efficiency on current projects while preparing for continued growth.”

VARGIS is currently managing orthoimagery programs for the States of Virginia, New York, and Michigan, as well as regional projects in Texas and the Mid Atlantic. In addition, VARGIS provides off-the-shelf and custom imagery solutions to the GIS, Utility and Land Management markets nationwide.

VARGIS is an industry leader in managing the acquisition, quality assurance and delivery of digital orthophotography to government and commercial clients. In six years of operation, VARGIS has contracted for the production of digital orthoimages covering more than 800,000 square miles nationwide. VARGIS also subcontracts and manages production of its own Eyemapä brand of high-resolution digital color orthophotography in five metropolitan regions throughout the US.
