RMSI gets ISO 9001:2000
NEW DELHI (India), June 24, 2002: RMSI, a global IT services company, announced today that its Hyderabad, India office has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification. The Hyderabad office of RMSI, which employs more than 250 people, has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification for establishing and applying a Quality Management System for “Supply of Data, Engineering, and Software Solutions for the GIS industry”. The audit was performed by TUV India Pvt. Ltd., which is a part of RWTUV Germany, an accredited certification body for the International Organization for Standardization.
The certification is testimony of RMSI's commitment to providing its clients with high quality value add services, and was achieved after an intense review of the company’s quality processes.
Commenting on the occasion, Manoj Misra, Vice President GIS, and head of RMSI’s Hyderabad operations, said, “The ISO 9001:2000 certification for RMSI Hyderabad is proof of our stated intention of enhancing the value we create for all our stakeholders through continuous improvement with demonstrable benefits in our services, products and business practices. We are committed to creating and maintaining a culture of quality throughout the organization.”

RMSI Hyderabad began the certification process in October 2001. The award of the ISO 9001:2000 certification came at the end of an intense audit that involved employees at multiple levels of the organization. TUV India (P) Ltd. performed the on-site assessment, examined RMSI’s documented procedures, and conducted an audit of the company’s overall operations.
The ISO 9000 series of international standards for quality management is among the most widely known and successful of the 13,000 standards published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO has become the most recognized international reference for quality requirements in the B2B and B2C marketplace. It aims at enhancing client satisfaction through effective application of a quality management system, and includes processes for continual improvement of this system.
