Maptitude adds native ECW support
Earth Resource Mapping is pleased to announce that Caliper Corporation is the
latest organisation to integrate ECW native support into their Geographic
Information System product - Maptitude® GIS for Windows Version 4.5.
Caliper incorporated ECW into Maptitude as it allows their users to read and
write the increasingly used ECW file format. ECW is the standard compression
format in the spatial industry as it allows users to access and integrate high-
resolution imagery. ECW has also proven to be a complementary data
management tool as it reduces the amount of storage space required by a user.
Maptitude is the intelligent mapping solution for business, government, and
education. Maptitude is a powerful combination of software and geographic data
that provides everything you need to realize the benefits of desktop mapping and
spatial analysis with a single, easy-to-use package.
Peter Van Demark, Director of GIS Products and Training from Caliper
Corporation said, 'Caliper Corporation is committed to supporting all the popular
formats for image layers in maps, and is pleased to add support for ECW in the
latest versions of our GIS products.'
