AND A NEW SUITE OF MOBILE PRODUCTS
www.sophsys.com
Lafayette, Colorado - SophSys, Inc., a leading provider of
software solutions and database services to the Utility Industry,
announced today release of the SherpaSoloTM Standards product,
and beta release of the mSherpaTM suite of mobile estimating tools.
SophSys' Sherpa product provides a full suite of engineering,
drawing, and cost-estimating tools for electric distribution utilities,
and is designed to integrate with the client's existing materials and
labor (Compatible Units) database. The new SherpaSoloTM
Standards product fills a gap in their product line by offering an
industry standard material and labor database for smaller utilities
without existing estimating tools.
Additionally, the SherpaSoloTM Standards product is delivered with
a corresponding set of Standards drawings in AutoCAD format.
"This provides an excellent starting point for smaller utilities desiring
to automate their design and estimating functions in an incremental
fashion," say SophSys president Jerry Kennedy. "Using the forms
interfaces delivered with the product will enable small municipal
and cooperative utilities to modify and customize over time the
starter set to more accurately reflect their material and labor costs.
SophSys also is announcing the beta release of their new
mSherpaTM suite of mobile estimating tools for handheld devices.
mSherpaTM provides non-graphic estimating functionality operating in
the GIS platform independent Windows CE environment. Platform
specific versions for ESRI's new ArcPad 6, as well as Autodesk's
OnSIte View are also in the pipeline, and will be shown at the 25th
annual GITA conference in Tampa, Florida March 17 to 20th.
SophSys will offer a chance to win a new Compaq iPAQ to any
user attendee who enters their drawing by getting an mSherpaTM
demo at the conference.
Sherpa is a registered trademark of SophSys, Inc.
