Burlington, Ontario Wins Prestigious Gold Medal for e-Government Services

The City of Burlington, Ontario, CA was recently awarded the gold medal for excellence in municipal e-government at the 10th annual Technology in Government Distinction Awards. The award was presented to the City for their innovative Electronic Service Delivery Project.

This project allows citizens and businesses of the community to do business with the City at any time from anywhere using an Internet browser. Services provided include: applying for permits, applying for and renewing licenses, making property information requests, mapping and land related information systems using OneStopGov from CSDC Systems, Inc. OneStopGov is a highly secure, web-based portal designed by CSDC and hosted by Teranet that directly accesses the City's AMANDA property-based systems.

The Distinction Awards of Technology in Government Week are recognized as the most prestigious and highly coveted Awards for rewarding innovation, excellence, and leadership in e-government in the public sector in Canada.

    ABOUT ONESTOPGOV:

OneStopGov is a fully integrated front-to-back and back-to-front solution (integrating people, property, transactions and processes) that reaches beyond the agency to include government to citizen, government to business, government to government and government to staff or employee interactions.

OneStopGov leaves complete control over content and look and feel in the hands of the agency, while allowing the CSDC's eNtraprise web servicing software to be hosted externally to the jurisdiction. This helps to minimize the need to maintain an infrastructure of personnel and equipment that may not be justified for the transaction loads expected, adding considerably to both the speed of implementation and the rapid return on investment. It is fully configurable, enabling the agency to decide what transactions it wants to provide and to use its own forms and procedures (as implemented in its existing back-office systems). It also, allows the local government to maintain consistency of its visual identity, adapting the services (through the use of XML and XSL).

For over a decade, CSDC Systems has been delivering applications solutions to municipalities throughout the United States and Canada. Clients include such large cities as Toronto ON, St. Paul MN, San Jose CA, Aurora CO, Burlington VT, and Portland OR.
