New Building Products & Technology Centers to be Featured at A/E/C SYSTEMS 2003

CLEVELAND, Nov 26, 2002 - In response to results of a recent industry research study, A/E/C SYSTEMS 2003 will be adding a new Building Product and Technology Center (BPTC) to its event lineup when it is held at the Washington D.C. Convention Center in June 2003. The new BPTC focus will spotlight mechanical, structural, energy and environmental systems as well as window, lighting, and wall and floor coverings technologies.

As part of its ongoing commitment to serve the needs of its audience, A/E/C SYSTEMS, in partnership with Marketing Special Teams, Inc., conducted the notable research project to evaluate the responsiveness of former A/E/C SYSTEMS' attendees to the idea of technology and building product centers. The research, which targeted the architectural, engineering and construction industries, discovered that there was favorable response to and a significant need for the BPTC concept.

Of the approximately 2,000 participants surveyed, 84.2% indicated strong interest in attending the newly expanded A/E/C SYSTEMS event especially with the BPTC focus, as well as a number of other newly planned initiatives. Other areas of interest centered on new trends in project and design technology, cutting-edge energy efficient buildings and environmentally superior designs.

Beyond the BPTC focus, A/E/C SYSTEMS 2003 will feature other new concepts to address the informational needs of its attendees. Conference tracks centered on the governmental aspects in AEC-related projects will emphasize homeland and document security, government procurement and purchasing, infrastructure and GIS. The post-9/11 rebuilding of the Pentagon is in development as a special interest topic within the area of new design and renovation.

The combination of new elements, as well as those back by popular demand, as in the `Day in the Life of a Project', will drive attendance and exhibitors to the June event. "As Washington D.C. is one of the most active areas in the country for new construction and renovation, this year's focus on providing `Solutions for the Total Asset Lifecycle' will be a big draw", said Jeff Forker, Vice President, Group Director, Penton Media, Inc.

The A/E/C SYSTEMS event is well known for its 23-year history as one of the most respected events within the AEC marketplace, as well as for its impressive industry support. Over 100 publications and associations supported the 2002 event, and current plans for collaboration should be just as impressive in 2003. The event will be held June 2-5, 2003 at the new Washington Convention Center.

For more information on attending, visit www.aecsystems.com or call (800) 451-1196; fax (610) 280-7106. For information on exhibiting call (610) 280-7110; fax (610) 280-7106.
