Markham, ON - August 5, 2003: Canada’s leading mapping data and geocoding solutions provider, DMTI Spatial, is pleased to announce that its CanMap Streetfiles data set has been selected by The GeoGraphics Group (GGIS) of Golder Associates Ltd to complete a new Web-based GIS site for Calgary Technologies Inc (CTI) – a division of Promote Calgary Inc. The new site will enhance CTI’s mandate to promote and attract high-tech investment and IT companies in Calgary.

The new GIS site features an interactive mapping tool that displays IT company “clusters” and a variety of geographic/demographic profiles. Combining traditional marketing tools with mapping technology makes the site visually attractive, interactive, and informative. It works 24/7 and provides effective and customized information for the potential investor.

Economic development organizations promoting their communities as progressive places to invest can help citizens, businesses, and potential investors make informed decisions with GIS. “To attract investment in the Calgary technology sector, potential investors need to learn about our city, its people, its location, the cluster of businesses and opportunities that make up our community”, says Charles Reichert, Director of Calgary Technologies Inc., “this Web-based system and DMTI Spatial’s CanMap data helps them do just that. It helps us communicate more clearly, quickly, and easily with investors, making the entire experience truly unique.”

“Our expertise in developing mapping data is a perfect complement to Golder Associates solution for Calgary Technologies Inc.. We aim to provide a stalwart solution for customers that consist of the best mapping data for Canada, “ said Don DeGenova, VP, of Business Development and Strategic Alliances of DMTI Spatial.
